Humidity hit RBC Brooklyn Half, killing one runner and hospitalizing 16
The warm conditions of the RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon on Saturday morning caused temperatures to reach mid-20s at the start of the race, killing one and hospitalizing 16 others.
Runner identified as Flatbush in New York David Reichmann.. The 32-year-old boy was arrested on the Connie Island promenade after the half marathon and was immediately taken to Connie Island Hospital where he was sentenced to death. New York Road Runner.

The race is held annually by NYRR. This year, 22,000 participants finished from the Brooklyn Museum through Prospect Park and on the Coney Island promenade.This year’s race Abnormally warm condition, The temperature at 9am was 23 degrees Celsius and the humidity was 85 percent.

according to the NY post, Sixteen runners, including Reichmann, were taken from the race to the hospital. Four of them are dealing with serious injuries caused by falling near the finish line.
