QUEBEC CITY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — (TSX: HEO) – H2O Innovation Co., Ltd. (“H2O Innovation” or “Corporation”) is pleased to announce that its Water Technologies & Services (WTS) business line recently won 10 new water treatment projects. These new contracts total $12 million, bringing WTS’s backlog to $46 million. New projects come from four municipal customers and his six industries. One of the projects concerns water reuse in the aquaculture sector. H.2O Innovation was selected to complete the design, manufacture and commissioning of this recycling system including reverse osmosis (RO), granular activated carbon (GAC) and UV disinfection technology. Water is the heart of any aquaculture facility, with 30 MGD (113 550 m3/day) amount of water for aquatic species being farmed. Due to local supply constraints, a treatment system is required to increase the amount of water available at this facility. This treatment approach is a first for the aquaculture industry. A project of this type is H.2O Innovation will not only provide the capital equipment for this facility, but will also be well-suited to provide technical services, specialty chemicals and consumables in the future. The existing system is also operated by an operations and maintenance (O&M) team located in New York State.
Two of these new projects involve the production of soy-based biofuels. Ethanol stands out as a cost-effective solution with significant environmental, social and economic benefits, hence the H2O Innovation believes bioethanol is the key to creating a greener future. To that end, the company has provided equipment, chemicals, services and consumables to more than 90 bioethanol facilities in the United States and Canada over the past 20 years.
