Emma Thompson felt ‘half alive’ after finding out about ex-husband Kenneth Branagh and Helena Bonham Carter cheating: ‘I was totally blind’

Emma Thompson felt ‘half-alive’ after finding out that ex-husband Kenneth Branagh was having an affair with Helena Bonham Carter.

the actress spoke New Yorkershares how she felt when she learned that Branagh was meeting Carter, who worked on his film, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

Thompson and Branagh were married from 1989 to 1995, while Carter is believed to have dated him from 1994 to 1999.

Thompson recalls:

“What I learned was how easy it is to get blinded by your own desires to cheat yourself.”
