Deena Kastor Completes Career Abbott World Major Marathon Circuit in Berlin

Former American Marathon Record Holder Deena Custer alluded to She will be running this year’s Berlin Marathon, officially ending her six-star World Major Marathon campaign. Castor is one of America’s all-time greatest marathoners, and until this year he won the 2006 London Marathon, where he held the national record of 2:19:36. (Keira D’Amato She broke Custer’s record by running a 2:19:12 at the Houston Marathon in January 2022. ) Custer also held the American half marathon record until 2018 when she ran 1:07:34. Molly Huddle I ran in 1:07:25. Besides her name in her record book, she won many races in her career, including several World Majors. (She won Chicago in 2005, in addition to London in 2006.) She also won a bronze medal in the marathon at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Her most recent World Major Marathon appearance was the 2019 Tokyo Marathon.

Kastor isn’t going to win Berlin, but she’s spent quite a bit of time on the podium. Instead, she shoots for the final part of a six-star medal, a bucket-list goal shared by many marathoners (both amateurs and professionals) around the world.
