“For me, it was really about mourning your children,” David told E! news. “I grieve to watch them grow and to see them clip their wings and make them their own people.”

The Broadway star, who said he was the twins’ primary caretaker, explained it was bittersweet to find his job “coming to an end.”

“Nobody says that as a parent, but it’s inevitable,” he added. It’s also a little sad.”

David said he advises all new parents to enjoy every moment with their kids, and he’s proud to have done just that.
