CTFL Round 2 Summary: Bears Stay Top in London

Sunday, May 29 Canadian Athletics Federation (CTFL) made its second stop of the season at Bob Vigars Classic in London, Ontario. With more than 60 athletes competing for their respective CTFL teams, It was The Bears who took the lead in the two CTFL preliminary competitions.

Top performers of the tournament

Usheorizeitekiri (Bears)

Itsekiri beat the Canadian Olympic athletes in the men’s 100m in 10.04 seconds (+3.0 m / s) speed. Borade Ajomale, Itsekiri’s best performance of the season. His time wasn’t a tailwind (+2.0 m / s or more), but Itsekiri ran a 10.10 second tailwind in qualifying. Itsekiri represented his native Nigeria at 100 meters of the Tokyo Olympics, but he lives in Saskatchewan and is on the train.

Tameran Defreitas (Huskys)

Defreitas scored the best performance of the season, 24.15 seconds, a women’s 2oom and the most points in the husky tournament, 1031 points. The 27-year-old Sprinter from Barrie, Ontario also finished sixth in the 11.79 seconds at 100 meters, slightly below her personal best of 11.66.

Tournament highlights

The men’s 1.5m was an afternoon scene, and the lead switched back and forth in the final 200m. Alec Parnell (Husky) and Rohan Nowbotsing (Spitfire). Nobotting moved with 200m remaining, Parnell counterattacked and the two men fought immediately in the final. Purnell came across the finish line to win at 3: 45.40, but Nowbotsing was second at 3: 46.18.
