As Canada’s National Adaptation Strategy nears completion, Climate Proof Canada, an insurance industry-backed coalition, has provided the federal government with clear goals and solutions to the immediate climate change-related threats facing the country. I am asking you to include it in your plan.
In a joint statement, Climate Proof Canada said, “National adaptation strategies will only succeed if they drive short-term action and set clear national goals that reduce the climate risks facing people living in Canada today. The Association of Mutual Insurance Companies of Canada, the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada, the Canadian Insurance Authority and the General Insurance and Compensation Corporation also endorse the coalition.
