BC pharmacies issue warning after mislabeling liquid acetaminophen for children – BC

Shoppers Drug Mart has issued a warning about improperly labeled liquid acetaminophen at one of its Richmond stores.

The company said the affected product was labeled as a 50mg/5ml solution and sold in a 100ml amber bottle.

This product was sold November 2nd through November 6th at the 118900 Cambie Road location in Richmond.

The BC Pharmacist Association said it had been warned of the mislabeling, which affects products intended for children.

Those who have purchased the product are urged not to consume it and to return it to the pharmacy for replacement.

The university said it was “investigating” the situation “to ensure that regulatory requirements were met, or to see if further investigation was necessary to protect the public interest.”

The company apologized for the error, but said there were no reports of illness related to mislabeled bottles.
