Memorial Day is a day to remember Canadians who gave their lives for their country in war.

Toronto has several ceremonies starting at 10:45 am on Friday mornings.

The Toronto Zoo will hold its annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Waterside Theater at 10:55 AM, but will close 10 minutes earlier.

Veterans, military, emergency services, and TTC personnel who arrive in uniform receive free admission and parking for the day. Others who plan to attend the ceremony at the zoo will get his 50% discount on admission.

Outside of the Remembrance Day ceremony, the CN Tower is lit up red that night to commemorate the lives lost.

The TTC also said it will suspend services for two minutes at 11am in honor of the fallen soldier.
