Shippagan, New Brunswick – Police in New Brunswick say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of an 11-year-old boy who was hit in the face with a scooter.
RCMP Cpl. Police responded last Thursday to a report of an armed assault outside a residence in the town of Sippagan, about 250 kilometers north of Moncton, according to Hans Ouelett.
Ouellette said police arrived and found an 11-year-old boy hit in the face with a kick scooter.
He said the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died on Saturday.
Ouellet said police today arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the incident, but did not disclose the charges he faces.
He said the defendant is scheduled to be released and will appear in District Court in Bathurst on January 26.
