On Nov. 28, one year after the fashion designer passed away after a two-year personal battle with cardiovascular sarcoma, Gigi Hadid Calling him “our angel” in one Instagram post, she recalled her friend in a series of old photos.
“Bittersweet… the eternal honor and joy of knowing a true hero, and the pain of a year without you!!” she wrote in another. “You left us with a lifelong inspiration. Just be yourself…we love and miss you so much. Virgil forever.”

“4ever and always,” she wrote next to a picture of her walking arm in arm with Vergil in a dress. “I miss you every day. Virg.LLV.”
