The Port Hardy RCMP is investigating a small plane crash near Strachan Bay, north of Port Hardy.

At approximately 1:20 p.m. on November 23, “The Port Hardy RCMP was notified by the Joint Rescue Coordination Center that a Cessna seaplane had struck the waters of Strachan Bay,” said a BC spokesman. According to the release, the RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board are working together to determine what caused the plane to crash, and the RCMP’s West Coast Marines and dive team are also working to locate the plane and two passengers. are mobilized. and a pilot.

The plane belonged to a Coal Harbor-based company called Air Cab.
