Zoe Kravitz has said she wanted to handle Will Smith’s Oscar-slapping incident differently.
The “Batman” actress, 33, opened up about her infamous onstage moments from Hollywood’s biggest night in a new interview. WSJ.magazine Like many other celebrities, Kravitz posted about his shocking attacks on social media after the Oscars ceremony.

“Here’s a picture of me in my dress at the awards ceremony. I feel like I’m attacking people on stage right now,” Kravitz captioned an Instagram post showing her on the Oscars red carpet. “And here’s a picture of me in my dress at the party after the awards ceremony – we’re clearly yelling profanities and attacking people on stage,” she captioned another. Kravitz did not name Smith directly, but she was quickly ridiculed by the actor’s supporters. She later deleted the post.
“It’s a scary time to have an opinion, say the wrong thing, or make controversial art, statements, or thoughts,” Kravitz said. WSJ. of the backlash she received for her remarks. “It’s almost scary because art is about conversation. In my opinion, that should always be the point. The internet is the opposite of conversation. The internet is about people putting things out and taking nothing in.”

The ‘Big Little Lies’ star isn’t trying to please everyone, but he’s been less involved in social media discussions and instead focused on making a statement through his work. “It reminded me that I’m an artist,” she said. “Being an artist doesn’t mean that everyone loves you or that everyone thinks you’re cool. It’s about expressing something that makes you feel like you’re being hunted or something.
To this day, Kravitz has mixed feelings about her social media posts addressing the Oscars controversy. Even the possibility of her starting over left her in a meditative mood. “I’m struggling with what to talk about now because I have to talk about it. I have very mixed feelings about it,” she explained. “I should have dealt with it,” she added. “And that’s fine.”
