‘You look like Drake’s son’: Edmonton youth hit big on TikTok
The Edmonton youngster has become a TikTok star of sorts after being compared to Canadian rapper Drake’s son, Adonis Graham.
Someone pointed out that Yemaya Azinia-Merchant looks a lot like Drake’s young son, and a photo comparing the two quickly went viral across social media platforms. As of Friday, it had more than 1.2 million views since it was posted Wednesday.
The 15-year-old says having a famous doppelgänger was tough.
“I downloaded TikTok a week ago and made a video that probably got 50,000 likes. After that, I made this video in response to a comment on that video, and it was a big hit. “

Azinia-Merchant is a fan of Drake’s music, and it felt great when he spotted their video with fellow rapper Lil Yachty.
“I started shaking. I was going crazy and screaming, ‘Did they actually see the video?’ It was really crazy because I downloaded TikTok a week ago and it was surreal that someone like Lil Yacty or Drake saw the video so I don’t think that kind of thing happens in such a short time It just feels great.

“I listen to his music. When God’s plan It came out and I was obsessed with the song. We had a rap battle at our school, and after the teachers did it, I devoted myself to that song for a while.
Azinia-Merchant is an up-and-coming filmmaker and hopes this growing TikTok following will help her build her future career.
“Since I work in the entertainment industry with movies, I have always wanted to grow my TikTok following, so I thought this would be a good way to promote it and build more followers. There’s always a TikTok with 10,000 likes and millions of views, and you just have to think — oh, what it’s like to be on the other side.
Azinia-Merchant is excited about what could evolve from this faint internet fame and has a sarcastic message for Drake.
“I want to earn child support because I am like your child.”
