World Athletics Announces Nominees for 2022 World Men’s Athlete of the Year
On Thursday, World Athletics (WA) announced the nominees for Men’s World Athlete of the Year. These candidates were selected by an international panel of athletics journalists and representatives of the World Athletics Council.
Six track and field athletes and four track and field athletes were nominated for the award, including the Norwegian long distance champion Jacob Ingebristenthe world’s greatest marathoner, Kenya’s Eliud Kipchogeand the American Sprint Dynamo Noah Lyles.

Eliud Kipchoge (KEN) Broke marathon world record to 2:01:09. Kipchoge was a Berlin Marathon champion and a Tokyo Marathon champion.
Noah Lyles (USA) 200m World Champion, Diamond League 200m Champion. A world leader, he ran a national record of 19.31, placing him third on the world all-time list.

A three-way vote will determine the finalists. The WA Council and WA Family vote via email and fans can vote online through his WA social media platform on Facebook.
