“Is this your pocket watch?”; RCMP search for owners of collectibles seized during March 2020 investigation

The Loon Lake RCMP is seeking the rightful owners of several unique collectibles seized during the March 2020 investigation.

In addition to numerous firearms and large amounts of drugs, police also recovered:

  • A significant collection of Canadian coins, including the Royal Canadian Mint Collector’s Set. Many of these coins are believed to be from the 1980s, and there is also a recent special edition silver dollar.
  • A collector’s set of British coins that look like antiques.
  • An antique Montauk silver pocket watch.

The Loon Lake RCMP says it is trying to find the owner as part of an investigation and is currently seeking help from the public. Investigators believe the item likely originated in Saskatchewan or Alberta.

“We are unable to publish a photo or detailed description of the coin as there is no way to verify who the true owner is,” explained Loon Lake RCMP Sgt. Earl of Keewatin. “However, the pocket watch has a personal inscription on it. In the hope that someone can recognize it and identify the inscription to claim it, I am publishing a photo with this inscription blurred. So go check it out, if you see this on social media please share it, if you can help find the watch’s owner, it might even help return the coins and other items to the missing. I can’t.”

If you have information, please call the Loon Lake RCMP at 306-837-2440. You may also submit information anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
