Man injured in police-involved shooting in downtown Vancouver

A man has been taken to hospital after a police-involved shooting in downtown Vancouver late Monday.

Officers from the Vancouver Police Department and Metro Vancouver Traffic Police responded to reports of an armed man at Block 300 of Cambie Street near Cordova Street shortly after 10 p.m.

The man was still in possession of the weapon when officers arrived, police said. A man was shot while interacting with a police officer. he was taken to the hospital.

No officers were injured in the incident.

BC’s Independent Research Service has been notified.
