Prince William’s godmother apologizes and walks away from royal duties after making ‘offensive’ and ‘unacceptable’ comments to charity boss Ngozi Fulani

Lady Susan Hussey, lady-in-waiting to the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William’s godmother, has apologized and resigned after making “unacceptable and deeply disappointing” comments at a royal event this week.

Hussey is said to have asked Ngozi Fulani, head of domestic violence charity Sistah Space, where he is from in Africa at the Queen’s reception on Tuesday.

Eyewitness Mandu Reed told the BBC that the question of where Fulani had come from was “offensive, racist and unwelcome”.Fulani is said to have kept telling her family at Buckingham Palace that she was born and lived in England.

A statement issued by the royal palace did not name the people involved, according to the BBC. However, Fulani confirmed on Twitter that she is “Lady SH.” hello! She then reported that the person she was referring to was Mrs. Susan Hussey.

Fulani was one of 300 guests invited to Mrs. Camilla’s reception. There, the royal family warned of a “global epidemic of violence against women.”

She took to Sistah Space’s Twitter account to post details of her conversation with the person:

I have mixed feelings about my visit to Buckingham Palace yesterday. 10 minutes after arriving, Lady SH from the staff approached me and moved her hair to see my name tag. The following conversation took place. The rest of the event is a blur.

Hunari refused to “name and shame” the palace aide, later adding:
