Pedestrian killed after being hit by tractor trailer on highway. 7 East of Peterborough: OPP – Peterborough

A pedestrian has died in a highway crash. 7th East of Peterborough on a Wednesday night.

A pedestrian and tractor-trailer collided near the Burnham Line in Otonabee South Monaghan Township at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to the Peterborough County OPP.

Police said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the clash.

The deceased’s name has not been released, pending next-of-kin notification, OPP said

The highway will be closed between Lancaster Road and Keene Road for several hours as OPP investigates the collision.
