If you’re an outdoor enthusiast looking for adventure, Vernon Search and Rescue (VSAR) has the perfect job for you.
VSAR is looking to expand its team with “some great community members.” Search and rescue teams took to Facebook looking for recruits.
“Recruits must be passionate about outdoor recreation, be physically fit, committed to learning, and excel in a team environment,” VSAR’s post on Friday said.
VSAR will hold an open house in early January to outline the process for new members.
If you are interested in joining the VSAR team, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to join the VSAR mailing list.
VSAR volunteers conduct RCMP search and rescue while providing mutual assistance to other search and rescue groups in the state.
VSAR activities include ground search and rescue, including wilderness survival, mapping and GPS tracking, high-angle and levee rope rescue, avalanche recognition and rescue, rapid surface rescue, helicopter operations, police evidence search and assistance, BC coroner service restoration, equipment maintenance, etc. .
