Vernon man arrested after trespassing in alley

Someone broke the front door of the store and stole a number of items from inside before escaping.

A Vernon man was arrested and is in custody after breaking into a company early Wednesday morning.

The RCMP received a report of an ongoing break-in at a business located in the 4900 block of Anderson Way at approximately 2:30 am on September 21st.

“Police officers were present at the location and discovered that someone had broken into the store’s front door and stolen a number of items from inside before fleeing,” said media relations officer Const. Chris Tereschi. “By viewing video surveillance from inside the building, investigators obtained a description of the suspect and shared it with officers patrolling the area.”

Shortly after, the suspect was found in a nearby business alley and arrested.

Cody Alan Macdonald, 31, has been charged with trespassing and failing to comply with a probation order. He remains in custody until his next court appearance.
