Fairfax announces successful completion of sale of its global pet insurance business to Independence Pet Group, Canadian Business Journal

TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (“Fairfax”) (TSX: FFH and FFH.U) announces the previously announced sale of all ownership interests in Crumb & Forster Pets announces the successful completion of The Insurance Group™ and Pethealth Inc. have transferred US$1.15 billion in cash to Independence Pet Group and certain of its affiliates, majority-owned by JAB Holding Company, and his US$250 million in seller notes. It was transferred for a purchase price of US$1.4 billion.

Fairfax is a holding company and through its subsidiaries is primarily engaged in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and related investment management.
