Undefeated teams play in Okanagan Sun home opener

The Okanagan Sun will play in front of their home crowd for the first time this season today (August 13).

After kicking off the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) season with two road wins and a bye week, the Sun is in action with the Westshore Rebels in town.

With West Shore going 3-0 this season, it’s a battle of the remaining undefeated teams.

“We have a very veteran crew, they are very strong together,” said Sun head coach Travis Miller. “They are playing the way we want them to.

In the first two games of the season, Sun quarterback Dominic Britton threw for 600 yards in 34 complete games with two touchdowns. As a team, they scored his 70 points and only 26 are allowed this season.

The Sun will wear the new ‘retro-themed’ brown jersey for the home opener.

Kickoff will be at Kelowna’s Apple Bowl at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online and in person, and children 12 and under are admitted free. You can also listen to the game on AM1150 or watch it on Telus Channel 1999.
