Two killed in QEW crash in Mississauga

Two people were killed Saturday morning after a transport truck and an SUV collided on Mississauga’s Queen Elizabeth Way Highway, police said.

According to OPP Sgt., the incident occurred just after 4:00 a.m. when the SUV was about to merge into QEW’s eastbound lane from Hurontario Street. Kelly Schmidt.

Two SUV occupants were pronounced dead at the crash site. Investigators are working to confirm the identities of the female driver and male passenger.

The truck driver was not injured.

Police say a dashcam video of the incident was seen by investigators.

QEW’s eastbound lane has been closed at Hurontario for an investigation and is expected to reopen at noon.
