Edmonton Police have issued a warning to vehicle owners and drivers after a series of thefts of nearly 10 luxury trucks and sport utility vehicles.

So far, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Automobile Theft Prevention (TRAP) team has investigated at least 11 similar vehicle thefts in November, police said in a news release Friday.

Specifically, the theft focuses on 2021 and 2022 Ram TRX trucks worth over $140,000, Dodge Durango Hellcats worth over $150,000, and limited-series Ram 1500 trucks. said police, adding that the vehicle has a push button start and could be a thief or a thief. We use duplicate key fobs to circumvent anti-theft systems.
The TRAP team is focused on identifying those responsible for these thefts, EPS Sgt. Don Lawrence said in a release:
“In the meantime, we want to caution owners of these vehicles so they can take additional steps to protect their property,” Lawrence said.
Police say owners of these vehicles should lock the steering wheel and park in a safe location, such as a garage, high traffic area, or well-lit area.
Police are asking anyone with information about these thefts to call EPS at 780-423-4567 or dial #377 from a cell phone.
