Three suspects arrested in $5 million California jewelry robbery

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Three suspects were arrested this week in connection with a brazen smash-and-grab robbery that allegedly stole $5 million worth of jewelry from a luxury Beverly Hills store earlier this year, police said.

During the daytime on March 22, up to six sledgehammer-wielding robbers smashed display cases and stole precious gemstones, designer watches and necklaces from high-end jewelry stores in Beverly Hills.

Police and FBI agents used surveillance footage to track down the three suspects, who were arrested Wednesday after officers served search warrants at separate locations.

Beverly Hills Police said in a news release that a 20-year-old man and an unidentified boy were detained in Long Beach.

A third suspect, a man from Gardena, was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers during a traffic stop in Barstow.

All three could face multiple charges, including commercial robbery and conspiracy, according to a news release.

A fourth robbery suspect, a 37-year-old man from Los Angeles, has already been detained on another charge, police said.

Evidence linking the suspect to the jewelry robbery was recovered during Wednesday’s arrest, officials said.
