Without Pearson, it wouldn’t be a proper Thanksgiving.

NBC officially marked the start of a farewell tour of the drama series by dropping trailers for the sixth and final seasons of “This Is Us” on Thursday. The final 16 episodes will premiere on Tuesday, January 4th at 9pm ET / PT and will run uninterrupted until the May Series Finale, except for the two weeks of February for the Winter Olympics. Will be done.

In a newly released two-minute trailer featuring key scenes and new footage from the last five seasons, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) admits she’s gradually losing her memory.

“I sometimes think about what my last memory will be before the candle goes out,” she says at a vulnerable moment. “I don’t know how long it will take for things to get worse, so I tried to remember all the details. I wish I could stop the time.”

“I’m not worried about forgetting the big things, it’s the little things I’m not ready to let go,” admits Rebecca.

Then Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) tells Rebecca that it’s time to get the kids, the Big Three, to start making their own memories. “Children are old enough to start making memories — important things they will remember for the rest of their lives,” he says.

“Until the end of the day, it’s always possible to remember it for something else. That’s the way we remember it,” Rebecca concludes the trailer.

“This Is Us” returned to production in early September with cast members and producers to commemorate the start of the final chapter on social media.

“Mom and Dad. Day 1 in the can, Season 6. Moore captioned Instagram’s onset photo with Ventimiglia.

Meanwhile, Ventimiglia shared an Instagram story after closing his first day with Moore. “That’s it. It’s the first day lap of Season 6. Can you believe it?” Moore asks when she and Ventimiglia return to the trailer. “It’s crazy,” he replied.

The final season will also include some of the first episodes, including Susan Kelechiwatson co-authoring the next Beth-centric episode, Little Ballerina Girl: Part 2. This is a follow-up to a standalone episode of Season 3. Co-star Chris Sullivan also oversees the episode and shares photos on Instagram.

Prior to filming, creator Dan Fogelman teased the premiere of the final season, painting part of the title black and calling on fans to guess what the mysterious words were. “This Is Us” writer answered Vogelman’s tweet calls the episode “funny.”
