The Stanley Cup was accidentally delivered to a neighbor of Avalanche Captain Landescog

The Denver couple happened to receive a special delivery when the Stanley Cup arrived at home earlier this week.

According to local NBC affiliates, Dmitri Rudenko and his husband Kit Karbler were at home on Monday when the car began to return to the driveway. The driver then got out of the car and opened the trunk, revealing the Stanley Cup that Avalanche had just won on Friday.

“I was the first person to see a car parked on a driveway. I saw the car retreat,” Rudenko told NBC News.

“When the person opened the trunk, I looked at the case and saw the final, so I recognized it. [Stanley Cup] The game, “he said. “I jokingly said,’Is it the Stanley Cup?’ And he says,” Yes! “

The cup was intended to be delivered to the home of Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog, who lives nearby and has his home address farthest from Rudenko and Kabler. The NBC reported that a large tree in the couple’s front yard was blocking their address numbers, which led to confusion.

The couple added that the cup keeper was kind enough to get the best hockey prizes before delivering the hockey to the right destination.

“They are only an order of magnitude different,” Kabler said. “Thanks to that single digit, it was a coincidence for us!”
