Fourth flight to Saskatchewan for Ukrainian refugees announced

The fourth flight of Ukrainian refugees from war-torn Ukraine officially arrives in Saskatchewan.

On Thursday, the Saskatchewan government announced that registration has opened for the fourth flight bringing Ukrainian refugees into the state.

The flight is scheduled to arrive in Saskatoon on November 23, 2022, bringing the total number of Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the state to 2,300.

“Here in Saskatchewan, we are fortunate to have a safe place to live (for people) in the months and years to come,” said Minister of Immigration and Career Training Jeremy Harrison. “We are proud of the continued generosity that the people of Saskatchewan have shown.”

One way he’s adapted to the new world, he says, is with his videos. He recalls that his first moments in Saskatchewan were a surprise at every turn and that TikTok loved it.

“I remember everything was strange,” Makhnachev said. “Even the weather, I remember when I came it was raining heavily and everything was gloomy. .”

Saskatchewan is gearing up for the arrival of a fourth plane, but plans are already in place for another.

“We’re still working on the next flight, but I think we can see a fifth flight, which will follow relatively soon,” Harrison said.
