Terry Rachwalski, Executive Director of Accelerators at Alberta Innovates, said business accelerators and pre-accelerators will support local entrepreneurs and start-ups at any stage of development.

“Alberta is on the big stage right now,” Rachwalski said Thursday. “This is a game changer. It takes us from many small programs to do our best and dive into the network of research and innovation around the world. .. We are now in a hurry. It will be recognized as a growing technology ecosystem. “

Accelerators are tools for the efficient growth of a company through routine programming, mentorship, networking, access to capital, and other opportunities. They help startups with activities that lead them to the first sale.

“If you have the technology and I have the technology, we may not have known each other to exist until we get together through this, and then what are we? You can make new ones, “Rachwalski said.

“And with Global Accelerators, Alberta companies visualize the world of capital, and the world visualizes us.”

Four accelerators were selected from a total of 64 suggestions. RachwalskiHe said it would take about three months for the accelerator to get going in Alberta, but some have already hired local staff.

Alberta Pre-Accelerator is the latest of four accelerators founded by Platform Calgary and Innovate Edmonton in an unprecedented Panzhou partnership. Platform Calgary CEO Terry Rock said their collaboration will help promising tech startups in the early stages of the entire state, with a particular focus on undervalued communities.
