Tech Sector Helps S&P/TSX Composite Lead Higher in Late Night Trading

Canada’s main stock index rose nearly 100 points in late-night trading as the tech sector rose.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index rose 80.90 points to 20,363.16.

The gains came as the US stock market closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Canadian dollar traded at 74.99 cents compared to 74.67 cents on Wednesday.

Crude oil contracts fell 39 cents to US$77.55 per barrel in January, while natural gas contracts fell 4 cents to US$7.67 per mmBTU in January.

The December gold contract rose $11.40 to $1,757.00 an ounce and the December copper contract rose 2 cents to $3.64 a pound.
