The singer recently responded to a 2017 copyright lawsuit filed by the songwriter Sean Hall When Nathan Butlerclaimed Swift deleted the lyrics 3LW “Playas Don’ Play,” the song they wrote for their 2014 smash hit “Shake It Off.” Per court documents obtained by E! News, Swift refuted the accusations in a statement dated August 6, writing, “All the lyrics to ‘Shake It Off’ were written by me.”

“Until I learned of plaintiff’s allegations in 2017, I had never heard the song ‘Play as Gon’ Play, nor had I heard that song or the group 3LW,” she continued. The first time I heard the song was after this claim was made.”

3LW but originally consisted of Adrian Byron, keely williams When Naturi Norton— Swift, who released several hits in her early 20s, listened “almost exclusively” to country music during that time, writing that she “didn’t watch any MTV shows” TRLOr go to a club where mainstream music was playing.
