“Succession” star James Cromwell holds his hand over the Starbucks countertop during an additional protest of PETA vegan milk

James Cromwell, a “succession” star and PETA’s honorary director, opposes Starbucks.

The 82-year-old actor stuck his hand to the Starbucks counter in Midtown, Manhattan, New York City during a PETA protest. This is because coffee companies continue to charge extra for latte vegan milk.

Police soon arrived and temporarily closed the store.

“PETA’s friends and I are calling on Starbucks to stop punishing kind and environmentally friendly customers for choosing vegetable milk,” said Cromwell in a “free animal” T-shirt. Told. “We are all involved in the life-threatening issues of climate disasters, and Starbucks should play that role by ending vegan surcharges.”

Protesters argued that dairy products are not only bad for the planet, but also incredibly bad for animals.

according to Page 6After the police arrived at the store, Cromwell used a knife to take his hand off the countertop to prevent him from being arrested.

Cromwell’s actions are the latest in PETA’s campaign against Starbucks, made from Sir Paul McCartney’s letter to former Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson, a daily sit-down at Starbucks headquarters in Seattle, and creamy oat milk. Includes a gift of Nitro Cold Brew Mocha — donated by RISE Brewing Co. — at the company’s locations throughout the United States

Cromwell is not the first Starbucks to claim vegan milk. Alan Cumming sent a powerful letter to Starbucks in Canada in February 2021.

At the time, a spokesperson for Starbucks Canada told ET Canada: Provided free of charge at Starbucks.
