Struggling flame goalie Jacob Markstrom: ‘I’m not good at hockey right now’
Calgary Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom pointed the finger directly at himself after Thursday night’s 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

“I’m not good at hockey right now,” Markstrom told reporters after the Flames beat the Canadiens 46-19 and still lost.
Last season’s Vezina Trophy finalist Mark Strom was well out of position when Canadiens rookie Juraj Slavkowski scored with just 13 seconds to spare.
Mark Strom successfully came out of the crease trying to play the puck when Sean Monaghan skated in, but the sliding goalkeeper gave it to Slavkowski, who put it into an empty net .

“I think everyone saw what happened. Not a good play,” Markstrom said.
The numbers for the Swedish goalkeeper this year are not good. He has his 8-5-2 with a 3.03 goals average and a .889 save percentage.
Last season, Markstrom posted a 2.22 GAA and a .922 save percentage to lead the Flames to the division title.
“I thought the players did a great job, but they have to get better again,” he said of Thursday’s loss. “I’m not right now. I have to step up.”
Calgary’s other goalie, Dan Vlader, has had better numbers this season despite less playing time (2-4-1, 2.70 GAA, .913 save percentage).
