Spiral, Brainins Launch Stratum V2 Working Group – Bitcoin Magazine
According to a release sent to Bitcoin Magazine, a partnership between Bitcoin mining company Braiins and open source Bitcoin development initiative Spiral has set up a working group to accelerate adoption of Stratum V2.
Working group contributors will focus on building and sharing tools that make upgrading and deploying to Stratum V2 a more streamlined process for miners.
Spiral lead Steve Lee said: “Working towards industry-wide adoption of his upgraded Stratum protocol is one of the most important developments he has made in improving the decentralization and censorship resistance of Bitcoin’s architecture.”
Stratum V2 is a Bitcoin mining communication protocol that acts as an intermediary by connecting miners and their pools to the Bitcoin network. These forms of communication protocols are a way for miners to demonstrate their work and collect block rewards.
Today, the working group released the Stratum V2 Reference Implementation (SRI) for initial testing, followed by a more robust version of the same SRI in early November.
The November patch provides additional functionality for “Job Negotiation”. This is described as “a feature that represents a historic change in the censorship-resistant mechanism of Bitcoin mining by replacing the pool’s responsibility of assigning work to miners with the ability of miners.” choose your own work. ”
Braiins co-founder Jan Čapek said: Ten years ago. ”
The working group includes several veteran Bitcoin developers and is supported by BitMEX, Foundry Galaxy Digital, Spiral and Summer of Bitcoin.
