S&P/TSX Composite Index Gains Over 100 Points, US Market Mixed
Canada’s main stock index rose in late-morning trading amid gains in the industrial, financial and battery metals sectors.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index rose 101.58 points to 20,445.65.
In New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 160.78 points to 34,354.84. The S&P 500 Index was up 3.18 points to 4,030.44, while the Nasdaq Composite Index was down 39.07 points to 11,246.25.

The Canadian dollar traded at 74.77 cents compared to 74.97 cents on Thursday.
January crude oil contracts rose 37 cents to USD 78.31 per barrel, while January natural gas contracts fell 6 cents to USD 7.65 per mmBTU.
The December gold contract rose $4.10 to $1,749.70 an ounce and the December copper contract rose less than one cent to $3.62 a pound.
