A 77-year-old man was killed after being hit by two cars on 170th Street, Edmonton Police said.

At approximately 7:35 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and two vehicles on 170 Street near 95 Avenue.

Police said the man crossed the northbound lane of 170 Street, then the southbound lane of 170 Street, and was struck in the final lane by a 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Then, in his third lane adjacent to him, he suffered his second crash into a 1999 Honda Civic.
The man was taken to hospital by paramedics but later died.
Investigations are ongoing, but police do not believe speed or obstacles were a factor.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dash cam video will be asked to contact the police.
