To celebrate the Vanier Cup victory, soccer fans from across the country gathered outside Western Alumni Stadium for Fan Fest. Western University in London, Ontario was thrilled to be its first-time host.
“It’s great,” said Ethan Gardner, Western’s student council president. “It would have been perfect if the Western had been successful, but we are still happy to host and participate, hopefully with locals from London.”
Fans gathered in droves, dressed in red and green, the colors of Saskatchewan’s huskies and Laval University’s Rouge Eol.

Also in the crowd were Dawn Rose and her son Cam.
“I love football and I am very disappointed but excited about the Western Mustangs’ elimination last weekend,” said Dawn Rose. “The level of football this year was fantastic.”
The Funfest parking lot was littered with a variety of games and had food trucks where you could grab a bite to eat while listening to live music. Various photo shoots are also available for many fans.
“This is a huge success for hospitality, the West, tourism and London as a whole,” Rose said.
Novak joined by saying his experience in London was “amazing” and the weather was great.
