Small earthquake hits near Tofino, British Columbia, ‘shakes’ home
People living in parts of Vancouver Island felt the ground shake as a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck near Tofino, British Columbia, on Friday night.
According to the Canadian earthquake, Earthquakes that “feel light” It occurred approximately 21 miles northwest of Tofino at approximately 7:50 pm Pacific time.
No damage was reported and no tsunami expected.
Former Tofino mayor and current Minister of Land, Water and Resources Josie Osborne tweeted that “the whole house trembled” during the earthquake.

Osborne also urged local residents to sign up for tsunami warnings.
Friday’s quake, about 288 kilometers southwest of Tofino, followed a magnitude 4.0 quake on Thursday.
