SilverStar shines under the snow to support Vernon Nature Center

Alan Brooks Nature Center has partnered with Silverstar Mountain Resort to give residents the chance to check out snow-free slopes.

Two nature trail hikes, including gondola rides, take place on Saturday, August 13 on the sub-alpine Attridge Scenic Loop (also known as the Gnome Roam).

Silver Star may be known as the best ski area in the Okanagan, but there’s more to its history, wildlife, and snow-free community presence.

For many people, SilverStar is unfamiliar without snowfall.

Chantelle Adams, ABNC Education Coordinator, said: “This is an opportunity to see beautiful wildflowers and learn about this unique ecosystem that is very different from the arid Okanagan Valley grasslands.”
