Shane Wright and Luke Procup win the end-of-season CHL award
The league announced that Edmonton Oil Kings’defense Luke Prokop and Kingston Frontenax’s forward Shane Wright were their respective winners at the CHL Awards on Tuesday.

Prokop, a prospect for the Nashville Predators, has brought back the Humanitarian of the Year, an award given to players who have made the most outstanding charitable donations to the community.
Prokop became the first openly gay hockey player to sign the NHL contract after posting on his personal Instagram in July 2021. Since then, he has been the representative of the 2SLGBTQ + community and has supported supporting the organization of oils. He was previously awarded the WHL Humanitarian of the Year.
Shane Wright, who may be the first to be selected in the upcoming 2022 NHL Draft, was named CHL’s Leading Candidate at the Ceremony on Tuesday.

As Frontenax captain, Wright scored 32 goals and 94 points in 63 regular season games. In addition, Wright scored 3 goals and 11 assists in 11 post-season games.
Wright is almost unanimously ranked number one among draft-qualified players, including sports nets. The draft will take place on July 7th and 8th in Montreal.
