Saskatoon firefighters free driver from rollover

A driver had to be rescued by firefighters after his car overturned on Idylwyld Dr. at the Lone Avenue exit in Saskatoon Friday night.

A driver had to be rescued by firefighters after his car overturned on Idylwyld Dr. at the Lone Avenue exit in Saskatoon Friday night.

The Saskatoon Fire Department said in a news release that crew arrived around 6:30 p.m. and found the driver inside the vehicle suspended from his seatbelt.

Firefighters stabilized the car and cut the seatbelts, freeing the driver to exit safely through the rear driver’s side window.

The driver was then escorted by paramedics. Details about the incident and the driver are unknown.
