Santa Claus Parade Begins in Regina and Saskatoon

The City of Regina will host 36 of them.th The annual Santa Claus Parade takes place today at 12pm in the Queen City.

The parade begins at Wheaton Quay and continues along 2nd Avenue North and Albert Street. Along Albert Street he continues to 7th Avenue North, where Santa is dropped off at the Northgate Mall parking lot.

Albert Street, from 2nd Avenue North to 7th Avenue North, will be closed to traffic from 11am to 1pm. The Northgate Mall entrance will also be restricted during this time.

Regina Police have said traffic in the area will reopen after the parade is complete.

Along the route, Canada Post has mailboxes for children to send letters to Santa.

Due to the pandemic, the parade was canceled in 2020, but will resume in 2021.

Saskatoon also hosts the 31st Annual Santa Claus Parade on Sunday.

Traffic restrictions will be in place from 8 AM to 3 PM with no access to Spadina Crescent, Avenue A, 19th Avenue, 3rd Avenue, 20th Avenue, 4th Avenue, 22nd Avenue, 1st Avenue.

The parade will begin at 1pm on 19th Street East and Avenue A South.

The parade marches through the downtown area, turning left on 3rd Avenue South, turning right on 20th Avenue East, turning left again on 4th Avenue until it reaches 22nd Street East, where it turns left back to the Midtown Mall.

Currently, 45 floats are expected to participate.
