Sheryl Burke says she was whipped with a belt by her high school boyfriend (EXCLUSIVE)

Sheryl Burke opens up about domestic violence again. In this exclusive clip from Wednesday’s all-new “Red Table Talk,” the “Dancing With the Stars” pros share stories from their high school days.

“I try not to get too flashy, but I’ll never forget when in high school, the guy I was with whipped me with a belt,” Burke says. “And then he got bruises all over his legs. I remember his parents watching it and he didn’t do anything.”

Burke continues.

The alleged incident shocked the women of ‘RTT’, but it’s not the first time Burke has spoken out about a past abusive relationship.

In a 2020 video shared on the 38-year-old dancer’s YouTube channel, Burke, who was then married to Matthew Lawrence, said her relationship with her now ex-husband was the only one that “didn’t fit this abusive pattern.” He said

In a lengthy video, Burke said she was “addicted” to dating toxic men. She revealed that she fell into a “fast-moving pattern” when she lost her virginity to her first boyfriend when she was 20.

Of her thoughts on sex in her teens and early twenties, Burke said, “In a way, I felt like I needed to keep my boyfriend, so it was something I did.

In addition to abusive relationships, Burke said she abused herself through alcohol.It wasn’t until she met Lawrence and started dating him around 2007 that these patterns changed .

“Looking back, I honestly think my first relationship that didn’t fit this abusive pattern was when my now-husband, Matt, and I first dated in 2007.” When we first dated, I didn’t love myself enough to think I deserved to be with someone who was really nice to me. But he grew up in this industry, so he was already there and doing it.

Burke and Lawrence were on and off for several years before tying the knot in 2019. The pair split in February and finalized their divorce last month.

“He’s the complete opposite of all the bad things in my past relationships,” she said at the time. Maybe, but looking back now, it’s because every part of my story helped me become the woman I am today.”

On his motivation for sharing his story of trauma and abuse, Burke said he hopes it will help others

“I want to share my experience with all of you because I hope it helps others who have gone through something similar to know that there is hope on the other side,” she said.

“I’m proof that where you are now doesn’t have to be forever,” Burke added.
