Jets head coach Robert Saleh was noncommittal when he spoke to reporters on Monday and was asked about Wilson’s first role on the team.

This comes after the second-year QB had his worst game of the year in a loss to division rival New England Patriots, after throwing for just 9 completions on 22 attempts for a season-low 77 yards on Sunday. The Jets lost 10-3 on a punt return on the final play of the game.

At the post-match press conference, Wilson criticized him for not taking responsibility for his performance in the game, blaming the weather for his poor performance.

So far this season, Wilson has thrown for 1,279 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions for a league-lowest 55.6% shooting percentage. He also missed the first three weeks of the season due to a knee injury in the preseason.

The Jets could turn to Mike White or Joe Flacco if Wilson is benched. They are currently bottom of the tight AFC East with a 6-4 record.
