Wordle is small. The redact is big. Whereas Wordle asks you to solve a single five-letter word, Redactle displays the entire blacked-out Wikipedia page instead of a stub. Guess a word at once and have unlimited guesses. You can even get tons of freebies, starting with words like “was”, “and”, and “for”. So what makes it so difficult?

Well, the whole idea is that you need to figure out definite A person, thing, or place that is the subject of an article. In Wordle, knowing a few common characters is often enough to understand. If you hit a letter like E or T or R then there’s not much to do. But in Redactle, does it really help to know that “he” appears his 159 times? Sorting.

What is it like to play Redactle

Here are the games I played yesterday (no spoilers for today). This page was long. 10,000 important articles on Wikipedia— so it’s unlikely to be a stub or something lesser-known or obscure.

Finally, leaning towards the French angle, I guessed “France” (34 hits), “Revolution” (2 hits) and “Enlightenment” (8 hits). Enlightenment was in the first sentence.

Well, we’ll find out as we go along. I’ll try to use more specific words in the future. “Enlightenment” and “Revolution” were good follow-ups after “France” and not Merries to play late in the game.
