The RCMP is asking the public for help in locating a Keesykooth First Nation man wanted in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old boy.
Police said the death of the Court First Nation youth occurred early Saturday morning in Keesykoos First Nation. An arrest warrant has been issued for Edgar Kakakawai Jr. Edgar Kakakawai Jr. was charged with second-degree murder, assault causing injury, and failing to comply with the terms of his release order.
Kakakawai Jr. is described as being about 6 feet tall and weighing 210 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes. According to police, he has been known to frequently haunt the Keathiekoos First Nation, Cote First Nation, Kamsack, Canora and Yorkton areas.
Kakakaway Jr. is considered a dangerous person and police are asking the public to call 911 or local police to keep him away. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Kamsak RCMP at 306-542-5560 or local police.
