Kevin Costner pays homage to Ray Liotta, who fell asleep at the age of 67 this week while filming a movie in Costa Rica.
Costner and Riotta co-starred in the classic “Field of Dreams” in 1989, and Riotta played the baseball legend “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, famous for his inspiring fantasy films.
Kosner used Twitter to share clips of the movie’s iconic scenes. In this scene, his character, farmer Rey Kinsella, practices batting with Jackson from Riotta.

In the scene, Kostner throws a curved ball that Riotta hits back, aiming for Kostner to scramble and fall out of the way while Jackson is angry and glaring.
Admitting that he was “ravaged” to learn of Riotta’s death, Kostner reveals that a particular scene is not in the script.
“What happened at that moment in the movie was real,” Kostner wrote. “God gave us that stunt. Now God has Ray.”
It was devastated after hearing the news of Ray Liotta’s death. He has an incredible legacy, but he is always “Shoeless Joe Jackson” in my heart. What happened at that moment in the movie was real. God gave us that stunt. Now God has Ray. pic.twitter.com/JQmk1PsuSK
