Prince Charles and Prince William each went on stage at the star-studded “Platinum Party” at Buckingham Palace on Saturday to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, a prominent weekend honor.
Charles began his speech with “Your Majesty, Mummy” and then thought about her “life of selfless service.” He added: “Your family now spans four generations. You are our head of state. And you are also our mother.” Charles, 73, also in his speech, his late father, Raised Prince Phillip.
“My dad would have enjoyed the show and sincerely joined us to celebrate everything you are doing for your country and your people,” he said. “Looking back, I think of countless state events that are groundbreaking events along the roads of this country. And at the end of the day, you think of a red box filled with government documents. You will remember the people who led this country. Indeed, all the nations you serve. And the leaders of the world. “
And he said, “You met us and talked to us. You laugh and cry with us. And most importantly, you have been for us for the last 70 years. You were there for the rest of your life – you continue to serve. That’s why we’re here. That’s what we celebrate tonight. These in your home. The picture is a story of your life and our life, so Your Majesty, that’s why we all say “thank you”. “
William also enjoyed the fact that Buckingham Palace “turned into an IMAX screen,” with reference to the gigantic images projected on the iconic building. William spoke in the “Our Green Planet” segment, which also includes a pre-recorded message from Sir David Attenborough.
The crowd was greeted by one epic event with live performances by Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart, Queen and more. Elton John’s pre-recorded performance was also projected at Buckingham Palace.
Those who couldn’t get close to the stage of the performance also received the show from above when the spectacular drone show appeared after the sun went down. The drone shaped the teapot, the image of the queen, and the words “Thank you, wife.”
Given Cindig’s spectacular start, it’s appropriate that such a luxury show went smoothly. Elizabeth and Paddington Bear performed pre-recorded sketches that drew a lot of laughter from the noisy crowd. A palace spokesman tells ET that the sketch was taken in March.
“Her Majesty is well known for her sense of humor, so it’s no wonder she decided to take part in tonight’s sketches,” a spokesman added. “She was interested in the shooting and animation process and couldn’t miss the opportunity to invite the famous bear to tea.”
