MUHC’s Got Talent Contest Raises $677,000 for Research and Cutting-Edge Technologies – Montreal
Critical Care Physician Dr. David Hornstein is on a medical mission with a musical twist.
He put his band Twenty4Seven on a talent show to raise money for MUHC’s Critical Illness Recovery Centre.
Dr. Hornstein competes with several other doctors in a friendly talent contest sponsored by the MUHC Foundation to raise funds for a variety of causes close to their hearts.
MUHC CEO and President Julie Quenneville said:
MUHC’s pharmacy director, Dr. André Bonnici, is researching ways to reduce the impact of drug side effects.
“It’s important,” Bonici said. “I believe these Foundation events will help us provide the best possible care for our patients.”
Some have put themselves in the fire, while others, like epidemiologist Dr. Donald Bing, have decided to turn the mic over to the pros.
Dr. Vinh and singer-songwriter Billy Du Page teamed up to raise money for research into a rare genetic disease.

Three teams from different schools were also there to help, including the Rock Band at Selwyn House, the Glee Club at John Rennie High School, and the Jazz Band at Lower Canada College.
Lower Canada College student Daniela Kalil said, “It’s not just about playing music for your parents, it’s about making it really meaningful.
A panel of celebrity judges, including Habs great Yvon Lambert, decided who was the most talented.
